Combat! depicts the exploits of a U.S. Army platoon fighting its way across Europe during WWII, following D-Day. Realism was a key component in this series, and one requirement of the cast was that they attend army boot camp for a week of training before production began.
Original WWII battle footage was included in some episodes. The episodes range from straight combat adventure to human interest stories.
Among the regulars were Pvt. Braddock, the platoon comic and resident hustler, Caje, the sly, dark-haired Cajun and Doc Walton, the young, sensitive medical aid. Out in front were the tough, hard-edged leaders, Lt. Gil Hanley and Sgt. Chip Saunders.
Stars: Rick Jason, Vic Morrow, and Pierre Jalbert

I miss the following shows: Combat, Man From Uncle, Early days Mission Impossible. I thought it was great when each night had a specific them. The shows on now are awful. I see where someone wrote that the station was destroyed. Is that true

We used to watch TV Land ever since its inception because it was such a tremendous breath of fresh air compared to the crap that was on other channels. They showed the good old shows: Mr. Ed, Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, Leave it to Beaver. But alas TV Land fell off the tracks and started showing the same shows that can be seen on any other channel. So we channel surfed and what a wondrous joy to find American Life, "TV for the baby boomers". Combat, Rat Patrol, 12 O'Clock High were like manna from heaven. And the crowning jewel was Lost In Space. Waiting for Thursday night pulled me through the week. But now even that is all gone. I guess I will be watching DVD's and searching other channels until these wonderful shows return. PLEASE, PLEASE bring them back!! We all need a break from the junk that can be seen anywhere (like the shows you gummed up weeknights with now).
