AmericanLife TV NetworkSM Orders Second Helping of “Fixing Dinner”
13 New Episodes of Cooking Ideas that Restore the Family Dinner for Families On-the-Go

Washington, D. C. – Due to strong positive viewer response, the AmericanLife TV NetworkSM, the nation’s only full-time cable channel dedicated to providing lifestyle, entertainment, and information programming for the baby boomer generation, has ordered an additional 13 episodes of Fixing Dinner, hosted by leading meal planning expert Sandi Richard. The show launched July 1, 2005 and airs regularly every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2:00 and 6:30 PM ET. The new episodes will begin airing in December, just in time for the holiday season. In each half-hour episode, Richard helps a family to develop new approaches to meal preparation that saves times, money and a lot of tension – and most importantly, brings the whole family together at the dinner table.

Each Fixing Dinner episode features a typical family juggling priorities – jobs, long commutes, school, running errands, getting the kids to after-school activities and the like – and they’re all looking for ways to make dinner a fun family activity. Of course, the meals have to be nutritious and delicious and can’t take a long time to prepare. While the dining solutions in each show are tailored to the individual family, the underlying goals – bringing the family together for dinner and making the meals fun and tasty – remain the same, and can be utilized by virtually any family.

Richard takes an entertaining approach in assessing the family’s meal needs, determining what is and what is not working, helping to organize the family kitchen, working with budgets and picky eaters, and figuring out short cuts that don’t compromise the meal.

Host Sandi Richard is the mother of seven children. When eating started to become the enemy in her family, she took to finding solutions which resulted in the hobby of meal planning. That was 19 years ago and she has never looked back. Her recipes, menu plans and theories have been tested with real families over 5 years.
